When I built my dream home in 2020, I knew I was creating a space where I'd be making memories for years to come. Every detail was carefully thought out, from the foundation to the finishing touches. I documented this build and all of my design choices on Instagram, which is how @littlehouseonalittleland came to be.

Building Bonds, Creating Spaces

A significant part of my outdoor transformation began with my brother, Tony, who was then working for a construction company while doing side projects. In 2020, Tony helped me DIY a large paver patio, which quickly became the center of our outdoor gatherings. At that time, we filled the space with POLYWOOD furniture, and I quickly fell in love!

In 2024, my twin brothers, Tony and Aaron, took a brave step and launched their own construction company, Twin Crest Construction (TCC). I jumped at the chance to support their new venture and decided to install a swimming pool and a pool house in my backyard.

TCC provided 3D renderings of the entire project, making it easy for me to visualize the finished area—even the lounge chairs. I was deeply involved in every step of the design process, ensuring that the result matched my vision. Being able to support my twin brothers made this project extra special.

Crafting a Resort-Style Retreat

My vision for the space was to make my backyard look like a resort. I wanted chaise lounges lining one side of the pool, two dining areas, deep seating around my fire pit, and multiple Adirondack chairs and rockers situated throughout the space so my family could find comfort anywhere.

The sleek style of POLYWOOD’s EDGE and Modern Adirondack Collections aligned perfectly with my home’s aesthetic. The designs enhance my outdoor space with a contemporary touch that matches the modern yet timeless look I love. Each piece is heavy and durably built, so they’ll stay put, even on our incredibly windy two acres of flat farmland.

Furniture Built to Endure and Designed to Delight

Living in Ohio, we face the harsh reality of extreme weather: scorching hot summers and freezing winters that have ruined my patio furniture in the past.

Most box store patio furniture lasts one season before it starts showing signs of wear. Having already seen how well my POLYWOOD furniture held up on my patio for the last couple of years, I knew it was the only choice for pool furniture. Their 20-year lumber warranty is a game-changer for me. Thanks to the enduring quality and warranty, it's touching to imagine rocking my grandchildren in the same chairs where I rocked my own children.

Sustainable Choices Lead to Stunning Spaces

POLYWOOD’s commitment to high-quality, sustainable furniture spoke to me on a personal level. There’s something deeply satisfying about knowing that this furniture is made from recyclable materials. I feel good about my choice, knowing that I’m helping our planet by reducing waste.

Our Space for Special Moments

Now that the project is complete, I’m thrilled to have an entirely new area to host our loved ones. We absolutely love entertaining, and this new space is perfect for making those moments even more special. Knowing that the furniture we chose is not only beautiful but also incredibly durable and comfortable gives me peace of mind. I feel good knowing that it will last for years to come and will allow us to enjoy countless get-togethers and create cherished memories with our family and friends.
