One of the first products developed at POLYWOOD was the Classic Adirondack – it’s actually our #1 selling Adirondack to date.
Since then, we’ve added several styles of Adirondacks, which at first glance, can sometimes be difficult to distinguish. In order to find the perfect fit for you and your home, let’s take a look at the different styles we offer and what makes each of them unique.
Classic Adirondacks
There are three styles of Classic Adirondacks. Two of which fold for easy storage and transportation. Our Classic Adirondacks have the shortest seat heights (13.5″ and 14″) of all our Adirondacks, making them the closest to the ground — a great fit for those of us who are shorter.
Consistently our #1 seller, the Classic Folding Adirondack is a traditional folding Adirondack with straight arms and classic details. The Classic Oversized Oversized Adirondack is just that, an oversized version of the Classic Adirondack with all the same features. If you’re not worried about storage or transporting your chairs, then the Classic Adirondack Chair is the right choice for you — this option does not fold, but it was designed to complement our entire Classic Adirondack Collection.

Wave Collection Adirondacks
The Ocean Chair and all four Adirondack chair designs in the Wave Collection pay homage to our beautiful oceans while helping tell the story they represent. With each purchase from this collection, we’re able to transform over 1,000 ocean-bound plastic containers into beautiful outdoor furniture built to last for generations
While each all-weather chair looks great on its own, when all four Adirondack chairs from the Wave Collection are arranged in a row together they create a stunning visual of a cresting wave.

Vineyard Adirondacks
Designed with a comfortably contoured seat and waterfall front, the Vineyard Adirondacks will be a stylish addition to any outdoor space. Similar to our Classic Adirondack, the Vineyard Adirondack Chair features five back slats and wide arms.
For a more spacious option, check out the Vineyard Curveback Adirondack Chair — designed to give you all the room you need to relax in style. This oversized option has all the same features of the Vineyard Adirondack Chair, but with the addition of the contour back for maximum comfort.

Nautical Adirondacks
With a fanback design and sleek leg profile, the Nautical Adirondacks aren’t just for the beach — porch, patio, or backyard, it’s the perfect complement to any outdoor space. The Nautical Adirondack Chair features a comfortably contoured seat and waterfall front.
Similar to the Vineyard Adirondacks, for a more spacious option check out the Nautical Curveback Adirondack Chair — this oversized chair has all the same features of the Nautical Adirondack Chair, but with the addition of the contour back for maximum comfort.

Palm Coast Adirondacks
Our Palm Coast and Palm Coast Folding Adirondacks are almost identical. Both feature a sleek contoured arm for additional room side to side as you relax, but the folding version folds for easy storage and transportation. You’ll notice that the folding version also features a contoured front ‘apron’ – that’s what we call the front horizontal piece of the chair.
The Palm Coast Ultimate Adirondack with Hideaway Ottoman is just that, the ultimate relaxation chair — this chair was designed to complements the other two Palm Coast Adirondacks, but with the addition of a hideaway ottoman. Keep the ottoman tucked away or pull it out for an afternoon of sunbathing, the choice is all yours.

South Beach Adirondacks
The South Beach Adirondack sits higher than our other Adirondacks (16” seat height) – which could be a perfect fit for those who are taller. It also features a wider frame allowing more room for you to pull your feet up and cozy up under a blanket. Bonus! The arms are actually oversized too so you can rest your drink right by your side.
The South Beach Folding Adirondack has all the same great features but was designed with the ability to fold for easy storage or transportation.

Long Island Adirondack
The Long Island Adirondack is similar to our South Beach Adirondack in size, seat dimensions, and roomy contoured arms, but it features a unique ‘flower’ curved and closed back.

Seashell Adirondack
The Seashell Adirondack features an elegant waterfall seat (see how the seat slats continue down the front of the chair?). This is one of our larger Adirondacks with a sturdy 1-1/2″ thick front leg.

Modern Adirondacks
The Modern Adirondack Collection by POLYWOOD combines straight edges with soft curves for a contemporary look. We’ve taken the Classic Adirondack base we all know and love but created modern chairs by utilizing 3-4 wider back slats without minimizing comfort.
The Modern Adirondack Chair has quickly become a best seller and for good reason — a modern back style and sleek profile paired with the comfort of a contoured seat and waterfall front make the Modern Adirondack Chair the perfect complement to any outdoor space. For an oversized option, the Modern Curveback Adirondack Chair features all the same design elements with the addition of the curved back for maximum comfort.
Our Modern Folding Adirondack and the Quattro Folding Adirondack complement the entire collection, but with the added feature of being foldable Adirondacks, perfect for storage and easy transportation.

Kids Adirondack
If you happened to catch our blog post, 5 Products You Didn’t Know We Offered, you probably noticed our Kids Adirondack (also known as the Kids Casual Chair). This adorable, pint-size chair is fashioned from our South Beach design with a 4-slatted curved shell back and simple straight arms.

One of the most prominent characteristics of our Adirondack chairs is the backs. POLYWOOD features a variety of styles from straight to curved, 3 slats to 7 slats, and classic to modern. There is a style for everyone!
What’s your favorite POLYWOOD Adirondack?
We have several Polywood pieces on our patio, and love them all. We’d love to see a patio cart, ie, 2 shelves, handle, wheels. Thanks.
Thanks for the suggestion Joyce! We’ll pass that on to our engineering department as an idea.
I like the Seashell the best. That rounded front is very attractive. I have two
Adirondack chairs in our pergola but the need painted every year because they are wood. Polywood is so much better!
Thanks Dorothy!
I am trying to purchase the Trio rocking Adirondack chairs, but cannot find anyone who carries them. I’ve looked at Wayfair and Lowes Any suggestion would be helpful.
Nancy
Can you please tell me if you ship to Australia to a private home.. I really like the Seashell design. A friend of mine in NYS has the Polywood chairs and I fell in love with them when visiting last year. Thank you.. Sue
Hi Sue! I believe we have a dealer in Australia that we could put you in touch with. Our Support Team would be happy to help with those details, you can email them at: hello@polywoodoutdoor.com
Can you show a video of how the folding seats close up?
Hi Laura!
Thank you for reaching out to us! We don’t have video at this time of the chairs folding at this time. That’s a great suggestion through. You are able to fold the adirondack by removing the adirondack pins located in the front leg. Once the pins are removed, you may fold the chair by simply bringing the back assembly towards the seat assembly.
I hope this helps!
