However, in breezy or windy conditions, we always recommend closing the umbrella when it is not in use, as wind can place significant stress on both the umbrella and the base. While the included base is suitable for normal use, no umbrella base can fully prevent movement or damage in sustained windy conditions. If your pool deck is in an area that regularly experiences strong breezes, you may want to take extra precautions by keeping the umbrella closed whenever winds pick up.
