What is the total weight limit this can hold?

Hello AB, Thank you for reaching out about our Kids Picnic Table. The posted weight limit for each seat is 325 pounds, 650 for the whole table, although all POLYWOOD chairs are successfully tested beyond 400 pounds in accordance with ASTM standards. As for the age recommendation we do not have one, the seat height on this is 13.25" which is the same as our Classic Adirondack chairs. In general if you can fit in it and weigh less than 325lbs you are able to use it. Mindy

Does the material retain heat if it’s in the sun? Will it be hot to the touch?

Hi MH, Great question! Any material left out in direct sunlight for a long time, including wood, aluminum, and even HDPE, may become too hot to use. But you can take steps to prevent overheating to kick back and relax on sunny days. Our cushions and umbrellas are great for keeping your furniture cool and comfortable. POLYWOOD is highly durable and fade-resistant. While covers aren't needed to protect the material from damaging UV rays, you may opt for covers as a barrier to prevent overheating or keep them in a shady spot in your yard. If you're shopping for new furniture and accessories, select light lumber and fabric shades, as darker colors may retain more heat. Thanks, Lana

Is it possible to cut a hole in the center for an umbrella?

I have an almost 6 year old. Will this table be too small?

Hi there, Annie. This table may be easier to use for 1-4 year-olds, though it also depends on the size of the child using the table. The table is about 33" in Length by 30" Wide, and is 21" in Height, with a 7.75" gap between the seat and the underside of the tabletop. Thank you for taking time to reach out with your question. Is this table large enough for four toddlers?

How many kids does it seat? Is it possible to add chairs to the ends to seat two more?

Can this table be engraved? If so, what is the cost?

Hello, We currently do not do any in-house engraving. We don't suggest engraving because this will open the pores and allow dirt to get trapped in the lumber. Furthermore, any modifications made to the products, not by Poly-Wood, will void your 20-year limited warranty. You do have the option of attaching a plaque if you choose. We suggest using a plaque with screws/hardware rather than adhesive as it will not stick to our material. Thank you for the great question. - Steffanie
