Perfection

"These are perfect for the space, maintenance free (always a plus!) and very comfortable. Love the weight of them and not having to worry about bringing them in for any sort of weather. (Wind, rain, etc) We’ve been looking at these online for a long time. Once we saw them in person we knew choosing them was a worthwhile investment."

Michelle K. (5/5)

Probably great chairs once they have their parts!

"Both chairs came with missing parts! Missing screws on one and a whole cross bar missing on the other. My husband bought screws and fixed one himself. Waiting a week now for the missing cross bar for the other. For the price, quality control could possibly be better."

"We love the chairs! They look great and feel the same as you sit. I was not happy with the shortage of hardware or waiting an extra week to receive it and not hear any type of apology or get any merch or something in return. Customer service needs some work. . . . Ai cant run everything!!"

I make art out of your chairs

"Your chairs are extremely well built, whether every storm in Montana and have for the last five years and counting. As an artist, I chose your chairs because of the flat panel backs that accept photographic appliqué and I donate them to charities throughout the state of Montana, I would love to consider some special pricing on a bulk order of your chairs. If you like this, you can use it for a promotion. thank you for your consideration."

Q&A

Are the Adirondack Chairs adjustable in terms of the recline?
Hi Alicia! Thank you for your question. The Modern Adirondack Chairs are not adjustable in recline; they feature a fixed recline, and the medium recline style is generally considered the most versatile for all relaxation styles. Best, Amber
Can you stack the Adirondack chairs for storage?
Kathleen, Thank you for reaching out with your question about Adirondack chairs. Adirondack chairs are generally not designed to be stackable for storage. The shape and construction of the chair prevent it from stacking safely with other chairs. For storage, many customers simply place the chairs side by side or store them in a garage or covered area during the off-season. We do offer folding chairs that store well as well., I really like the Modern folding ones Hope this helps to answer your question. Best, The POLYWOOD Team
We live in a very windy area. How much does the curveback adirondack chair weigh?
Hi Sandi, Thank you for reaching out! The Modern Curveback Adirondack Chair weighs approximately 43 pounds. Its solid construction gives it a sturdy, substantial feel, which helps it stay in place better than lighter outdoor chairs—especially in windier areas. Hope this helps to answer your question. Best, The POLYWOOD TEam
Does the black color make them hotter in temp more so than other colors. Also do the fold?
Hello Laurie, Great questions! Dark colored POLYWOOD lumber may retain more heat than lighter colors when placed in direct sunlight, as is typical with other types of materials. Regarding foldability, the Modern Curveback Adirondack Chair does not fold. If you are interested in a folding version of the Modern Adirondack, we recommend the Modern Folding Adirondack (SKU: MNA110), which is found here: https://www.polywood.com/products/modern-folding-adirondack-mna110?variant=45792989905123 Happy shopping! We are moving and have the curve back chairs. The last step in assembly is to add the back using screws. Would it be advisable to remove the backs during the move or move the chairs fully assembled?
Hi T N, Thank you for your question! There should be no problem moving your Adirondack chairs as you would move any other furniture. Often, when customers disassemble their furniture to move or store it, they lose the hardware. If you decide to remove the backs for your move, consider storing your hardware in an easy place to find it, or securely fasten the hardware to the chair in a plastic bag for safekeeping. Best of luck with your move! Thanks, Lana
Are vintage finish samples available?
Hello Laura, Yes, you can purchase samples of all of our materials, including the vintage lumber. Please see this link, or search samples on the website. https://www.polywood.com/styles/samples.html Thanks, Mindy
Hi there! We would like to purchase two of your throw pillows to go along with the modern curve back adirondack chairs. What size would you recommend?
Hello Angie, Thanks for asking! I think any of our pillows would work nicely. Personally, I like the lumbar pillows, as I tend to like the look of the longer ones. https://www.polywood.com/styles/accessories/pillows.html Thanks, Mindy
Would the modern curve back Adirondack chair be comfortable and easy to get out of for a person under 5’4”?
Hi Julie, Thank you for your question! The Modern Curveback Adirondack chair is very comfortable to sit in with its curved back and is easy to get in and out of for adults of all heights. Happy shopping! Lana
How would you describe the color Vintage White? Is it warm? Cool? Only called “vintage” b/c of its wood grain?
Hi Nancy, Great question! Vintage White is the same color as our Classic White. It's the finish that differentiates the white lumber. Thanks for asking! Lana
Would you be willing to formulate several (four) Modern Curved Back Adirondack chairs in SAHARA—in the Traditional (smooth) finish—rather than the Vintage wood-grained version?
Hi Nancy, Thank you for your question! While POLYWOOD is a build-to-order company, we don't offer customization options or specialty products. Thanks, Lana
Hello, I live on Lake Michigan in Miller Beach where it can be pretty windy. Do these stay put in higher winds? What can you say about that
Hi PV, Thanks for your question! Our products are designed to withstand all weather climates. Whether the snow and ice of Northern Minnesota, the intense sun and heat of Arizona's deserts, or the wind and salt of the coast, POLYWOOD furniture is built to last outside through all seasons and weather conditions. Thanks! Lana
Do the modern curve back Adirondack chairs come assembled or do I have to put them together?
Hi Amelia, Thanks for your question! This chair does require assembly. You can view assembly instructions on the product page under the Product Details section, labeled Assembly Information. Thanks, Lana
We have a collection of Modern Curveback Adirondack Chairs. Is there a recommended headrest pillow that fits/works with these chairs?
Hi Neil, We currently do not carry a compatible headrest for the Modern Curveback Adirondack Chair, but I am happy to pass along your feedback, as that is a great idea! Thanks! Tracey
Does the Vintage Coffee color get hot in the sun? Also does the vintage finish chairs come in sets?
Hi Mary, Thank you for your question! We've designed POLYWOOD furniture to remain outdoors in all climates, but on hot days in direct sunlight, darker lumber colors readily absorb heat. On hot sunny days, we recommend testing furniture temperature with the back of your hand to make sure it's safe to sit on. We also suggest moving furniture to a shady area or covering it with a suitable outdoor furniture cover. For covers, we recommend thecoverstore.com. We do have Adirondack chair sets available in Vintage Finish. To see the sets, go to the Categories tab at the top of polywood.com and select Adirondack Sets. Scroll down the page until you see POLYWOOD Color on the left hand side of the screen and select a Vintage finish. Happy Shopping! Best, Lana
What is the front (highest) and back (lowest) of the seat height to the ground on this modern curveback model? I know the front is 16" or so but I can't find anywhere that states the lowest part of the seat to the ground.
Hello Kaitlin, The front of the seat (where your knees would be) is 16.25" high on this chair. The back of the seat, where the seat meets the back assembly, is 12.8" high on this chair. Thanks for asking. Mindy
Am I able to get a Modern Curveback Adirondack chair; Roomy seat, Classic height, CONVERSATIONAL recline? I only see an option for Upright recline with the other options I choose.
Hi Diana, We do not currently have a Modern Curveback Adirondack Chair that fits the criteria of all 3 of those options. We do, however, have the Modern Folding Adirondack available which contains 2 out of 3 of those options; classic height and conversational. You can check it out here at: https://www.polywood.com/modern-folding-adirondack-mna110.html. I hope this helps. Thank you, Michelle
What is the measurement from bottom of seat to top of back of the Modern Curveback? I have tall people and I’d like it to be comfortable…rest head back.
Hi Barbara, Great question! The measurement from bottom of seat to the top of the back is approximately 26.30 inches. Thank you, Michelle
Is the mahogany color just dark brown? or does it have a reddish tint?
Hi DeeDee, Thank you for your interest in our Modern Curveback Adirondack Chair! The Mahogany is a deep, dark brown color. If you would like to see a sample of this color in person before making your purchase, we do have the option to purchase samples on our website. Please visit: https://www.polywood.com/styles/samples.html for samples. Thank you, Michelle
Do these chairs have to be stored away in winter or can they be still outside?
Hello Shelia, While we do suggest to customers that items be stored away or covered if they can, our all-weather material is built to withstand all four seasons and a range of climates including hot sun, snowy winters, salt spray, and heavy winds. Leaving them out may also mean more cleaning come spring. Thanks, Mindy
Does the Modern Curveback Adirondack chair have a textured surface or smooth finish (hard to tell finish from photos)? If it is a textured finish, is it a wood-grained looking pattern or something else? Thank you.
Hi Mimi, Great question! This Modern Curveback Adirondack Chair has a Classic Finish. Our original lumber finish, Classic Finish, is our most widely used material in POLYWOOD furniture and features a timeless, smooth texture with a satin painted wood appearance. Our Vintage Finish lumber is available in a select number of furniture options and features a subtle, wire-brushed texture giving the appearance of rich, matte painted wood. Just like our Classic Finish lumber, Vintage Finish is easy to clean and will endure anything nature throws its way. You can see the difference between the two finished here: https://www.polywood.com/our-materials/polywood. Thank you, Michelle
