Reviews

This is my 2nd Polywood

"This is my 2nd Polywood chair. I bought the first one 20+years ago. The new one matches the old one in color, even though the 1st one has endured many Kansas summers. This one came with the wrong screws. They poked through the rocker. Plywood was quick to send me new rockers and screws. I love the quality of these chairs. At 50 yrs old, they will easily last the rest of my life."

Q&A

Is the back of the chair curved? Do you have to assemble it yourself?
Hi Douglas, thank you for reaching out! No, the back of the Vineyard Adirondack Rocking Chair is not curved. This design is intentional and helps provide a supportive, comfortable seating experience. The chair does require light assembly, and all necessary hardware and instructions are included to make the process as simple as possible. Best, Miriam
I have looked at Adirondack covers at the Coverstore as Polywood suggests. What is the recommended cover for the Adirondack rocker. Some covers are not deep enough, 34” as opposed to 34 1/2 in depth, or not high enough, 36” vs. 38”?
Hi Jim, Thank you for your question! If you share your chair dimensions with the Cover Store, they can suggest the appropriate cover size for your chair. If the standard covers available on their site don’t meet your needs, feel free to reach out to them directly. You can find their contact information at the bottom of their homepage. Thanks, Lana
Do u make a folding rocking chair? Why? Because they’re big and heavy and impossible to move but folding chairs, although still heavy, are easier to move and more convenient to store in the off season.
Hi Cathy, Thanks for your suggestion! We'll be sure to pass it along to our Product Development team for future consideration. Best, Lana
our patio gets full sun most of the day. will the seat of the black Adirondack chairs get very hot in the sun? In other words, uncomfortable to sit down on? I like the black color but am concerned it will get too hot to sit on.
Hi Lorri, Thank you for your question! We've designed POLYWOOD furniture to remain outdoors in all climates, but on hot days in direct sunlight, darker lumber colors readily absorb heat. On hot sunny days, we recommend testing furniture temperature with the back of your hand to make sure it's safe to sit on. We also suggest moving furniture to a shady area or covering it with a suitable outdoor furniture cover. For covers, we recommend thecoverstore.com. Thanks, Lana
We have 4 Vineyard Adirondack rockers, but now want to pair an ottoman with 2 of them.. which ottoman would work best with the Vineyard Adirondack Rocker?
Hi Aggy, Thank you for your question! POLYWOOD does not have an ottoman designed to pair with rocking chairs. As the seat height of the Vineyard Adirondack Rocking Chair is 15" you would want to look for an ottoman with a height of 15" or less, like the Palm Coast Ottoman or Classic Adirondack Folding Ottoman. Thanks, Lana
What is the measurement from the lowest part of the seat up the back to the top of the curved back?
Hello Chris, Thank you for reaching out about our Vinyard Adirondack Rocking Chair. The height from the lowest part of the seat to the top of the back is 26". Thanks -Jason
What’s the weight limit ?
Hello Teague, Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us with such a great question! The Vineyard Adirondack Rocking Chair is tested up to 400 lbs. Mindy
I wanted to know if the furniture comes already assembles or if you have to put it together?
Hello Joanna, Thank you for reaching out and for your interest in our Vineyard Adirondack Rocking Chair. This chair does require some assembly. I will include a link to a page with assembly information for this rocking chair below. https://www.polywood.com/assembly/ADR400 Thanks -Jason
Does the rocker come in the “curve back” style?
Hello Rick, Thank you for your interest in our Vineyard Adirondack Rocking Chair Chair. I do apologize we do not offer this in the Curveback style. This is great feedback though and I will pass this along for suggestion for new product options. Thanks -Jason
Do your rocking Adirondacks rock well on grass, or are they better on harder surfaces?
Hi There! Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us with such a great question! You may find it a tad bit difficult to rock on the grass in comparison to a harder surface. All the best, Kaitlyn
What is weight limit for rocker?
Hi there Mary! Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us with such a great question! The Vineyard Adirondack Rocking Chair is tested up to 400 lbs. All the best, Kaitlyn
What is the difference between the Vinyard Rocking chair and the Nautical Adirondack Rocker? (Besides the looks of the seat back and the price).
Hello Susan! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us! To compare the Vineyard Adirondack Rocking chair to the Nautical Adirondack Rocking Chair, structurally they are almost identical. The major difference is the back assembly. On the Nautical, there is a bit more lumber used for the fanned look. The Vineyard back assembly would be considered more classic. What a great question! Jillian
Does the vineyard Adirondack rocking chair come in a curve back style?
Hello Susan, thank you for reaching out to us. The Vineyard Adirondack Rocker does not have a curveback option but there are other rocker styles that have curvebacks. You can find more rocker styles at https://www.polywood.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=adirondack+rocker. Thank you again for your question. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
i love the adirondack rockers and chairs but i have sat in many and the seats seems to be tilted back which to me if you're short (which i am) its difficult getting up and out of the chair. are the rocker seats tilted back like the orignial adirondack chairs?
Hello! Thanks so much for reaching out to us! The seats on our Vineyard Adirondack Rocking Chairs are tilted back similar to the original Adirondack chairs. If you're interested, our Vineyard Deep Seating Rocking Chair is a rocking chair that does not have a tilted back to it. Here is the link to this rocking chair on our website: https://www.polywood.com/vineyard-deep-seating-rocking-chair-gnr23.html Thanks for the great question! Stephanie
Hi there! Do you ship to Spain? Thanks!
Hi, Fernando! Great question. We do offer international shipping. If you're able to email us at hello@polywood.com, we'd be glad to provide you with the details to help you move forward with an international shipment. Thanks for taking the time to reach out! Julia
Will these rockers be effected by a cement patio Will the cement grind on the rocking blades ?
Hello, We test our furniture on a variety of surfaces. The rocker bottoms should not be affected by the cement patio. Thank you so much for the great question! Ashley
why is this not available in sahara? It's available in that color as a set with two rocking chairs?
Hi Heather, Vintage Sahara is available for this chair. You will just have to click the little circle below the description to change the color. It is pictured in Coffee. Thanks! Ashley
Would this material be suitable for hot, humid South Florida? I see it's a plastic product, and I sure don't want it to feel like a hot car seat feels when you get into your car at the height of summer!
Hi there, Absolutely! Our all-weather material is made to withstand all conditions. Including the Florida sun. A good rule is if you can be outside and enjoy the day your furniture will be enjoyable too. Thank you for asking, Gina
What is the back of chair height from seat to neck? Husband is 6’6”- or recommendation for rocking chair with tall back?
Hi Linda, The seat height on the Vineyard Adirondack Rocking Chair is approximately 15". If you would like something a bit taller we also offer our Modern Adirondack Rocker. The seat height is about two inches taller than the Vineyard Adirondack Rocking Chair at 17". I have attached it for you to view. Thank you for your question, Gina
How easy and accurate is the assembly? I have read on a competitor page that theirs is not accurate and needs re-engineered. Is there any option to have your furniture assembled? Thank you.
Hello, Assembly for the Vineyard Adirondack Rocking Chair is straight forward. It will come in larger part assemblies that are easy to identify. There will be eight pieces with this item specifically. You will receive the assembly instructions, the hardware, and the tools to build. http://embed.widencdn.net/pdf/plus/polywood/koompbn2uk/ADR400.pdf?u=5zabog If you would like to look into a fully assembled option, please reach out to our Customer Experience Team at 855-935-5550.
