Defect design on Braxton Sofa

"The sofa back on the Braxtion sofa isn't very sturdy. After a few times sitting on it the back loses and starts to wobble. Screws are all in correct and tight. The back base pulls a way and leans back after a few times sitting on it. I fell like i need to brace the leg and the seat back so the screws to come loose. My husband is a big guy 250 pounds and I cannot let him sit on the sofa because the seat back can't withstand him sitting on it. The screws holding the seat back and arm loosen and the back of the sofa starts to leans back and become unstable. I have already returned 1 sofa thinking it was a defect but the second sofa is doing the same thing. I spent a lot of money on the set and like it but very disappointed with the design of the sofa as it really isn't sturdy. I don't know if I have and recourse to return a sofa again."

A little too lumpy

"I like the Polywood product, but I am not in love with the fabric seating itself. The fabric is fairly itchy, and the back rest pillows are very lumpy and not well formed. This causes the seating to look a bit sloppy. The fabric also causes you to feel hot when its warm outside. We ordered an entire outdoor set- table, chairs, lounge area, swing day bed and it was so much to assemble, very heavy to lift. We would probably reconsider when ordering in the future due to this."

Best outdoor furniture ever!

"We purchased our POLYWOOD furniture 2. 5 years ago: Braxton sofa, 4 chairs, 2 ottomons, 3 side tables and the smaller coffee table in the Gray Slate and Grey Mist colors. The cushions are deep set and easy care! They are very comfortable and flippable. Sturdy frames with rust proof hardware. We’ve received countless compliments on these. We take our cushions inside for the winter, but leave our frames out on our patio which only has a roof. Weather up in the northern Lake Erie coastal area of Ohio can get harsh, but this furniture withstands it all. We don’t use covers and when rain reaches some of our cushions in the Spring, Summer and early Fall, it just dries quickly. We highly recommend this company’s furniture as it is high quality, durable, beautiful and comfortable! You’ll be extremely satisfied! Thank you POLYWOOD for making superior products!"

The quality of this couch

"The quality of this couch is great! We had some trouble putting it together because the notch on the side did not match up with the back of the couch. After some “modifications” we got it to work and haven’t had any other issues. So comfortable and the perfect addition to our patio!"

Terrible experience / Not enough Customer Service Agents

"The back part will not fit into the side / arm on 1 side. We submitted a warranty request, waited 12 days and then had to sit on the phone for over 1 hour to speak someone. Pollywood then sent us replacement side parts, which we have just tried to install and are having the same issue. The entire experience is terrible as Pollywood is wasting our time."

Do the cushions attach to the frame?
Hi DLC, Great question! Deep seating cushions are removable but don’t have ties, so you can quickly store them in inclement weather or flip and reverse them to prolong their lifespans. Thanks for asking. Lana

Can someone please share the depth from the back seat cushion to the front of the chair? I know the seat depth is listed as 23" but how thick is the back seat cushion? 3"? Thus making the seating depth 20"? We have long legs in my family and want to make sure this would be deep enough to be comfortable before purchasing. Thank you!!

Does the "Midnight Linen" color cushion get hot in the sun?

Hello Angela, While I believe any of our Deep Seating furniture will be comfortable for napping, I can certainly provide the cushion size for you for the Braxton Deep Seating Sofa. These cushions have a seat thickness of 4.5 inches, and a back thickness of 8 inches. You can also use the showroom locator on the top right of the website to see if there are showrooms in your area. Can the cushions be purchased separately?
Hi Anne! Great question! If you already have a deep seating set, you can always buy the replacement cushions that are made for that particular set. You would just have to contact us directly and we can link it to your original order. Otherwise, we do not sell the cushions separately. Is the long sofa strong? There are not any supports in the middle and I wonder if it will sag or break?
Hi John, thanks for the great question about our sofa. We do test each seat up to 400 lbs, so it's very strong. Polywood also has a 20 year warranty against breaking so you won't have to worry about anything except which color to choose! Thanks for asking! Karen

Does this have a visible silver bar in the back?
Hi DV, Thanks for reaching out! The Braxton Deep Seating Sofa does have a metal brace at the top of the headrail that will be visible from the back of the sofa. The Prescott Deep Seating Sofa does not have the brace though, so you wouldn't see anything other than the POLYWOOD material from the back view. Hello! We are trying to choose a sofa and not sure which collection we'd like. It looks like the price across collections quite a bit. Is this because of design, and the cushion quality? Are the base cushions the same across the board? It looks like some of the collections have a foam core backing, and others have a fill, or are stuffed. We are currently looking at the following collections: Braxton, Harbour, Prescott, and Mission.

Using a soft bristle brush or a pressure washer (just don't exceed 1500 psi) can make cleaning your furniture a breeze! Are the cushions formed fiber or stuffed with fiber pieces? The reason I ask is that our current outdoor furniture cushions are stuffed with pieces, not formed. They have lost their comfort and shape over time.
