Reviews

Nice chair and prompt support from customer service.

"The chair is great. It is the second of this type of chair I've purchased from Polywood. Solid, study, comfortable, & can withstand the hot southern sun. The order did mistakenly arrive with two of the same front legs; however, I reached out to Polywood customer service with pics & details of the missing arm, & a correct one arrived to me within five business days. I'll still give five stars for the quality of the chair & that the company followed through with their warranty."

These are perfect, the Goldilocks

"These are perfect, the Goldilocks of Adirondack chairs, not too big or too small, just right! My favorite part about them is that they are not too deep, where you feel like you are stuck or have trouble getting out but are still very comfortable and relaxing to sit in."

Don’t do the White Glove option

"Things went swimmingly until my chairs were taken hostage by the white glove delivery service. Still don’t pay for that extra service."

Just need one more

"I have 5 of these chairs around the fire pit. They wear so well, that I can not tell the difference between the mahogany colored ones I bought 3 years ago, and the same colored I bought less than 3 weeks ago. I plan to purchase one more and a small table, to complete my set. Perfect!"

Q&A

Does this chair use thinner lumber than some of the more expensive chairs? Like the nautical curveback Adirondack (AD610)?
Hello Alana, Great question! The Classic Adirondack Chair does not use thinner or lower-quality lumber than more expensive models like the Nautical Curveback Adirondack Chair. Both are made from the same durable HDPE POLYWOOD material. The difference in price comes down to design and comfort features—higher-end styles typically include more contouring and a more refined look, rather than thicker material. Thanks for asking! Best, Emma
Are your polywood products that are shown on Wayfair the same quality as from your direct website?
Hi Celeste! Thank you for your question. Yes, POLYWOOD products sold through our authorized retail partners are made from the same high-quality materials and feature the same craftsmanship as those sold directly on our website. Happy Shopping! Best, Amber
Is there any chance I could get a sample of the slate grey Adirondack chair? I need to see it with my awning. Many thanks, Pam Navarre
Hi Pam, Thank you for your question! Our lumber and fabric samples are available to order on polywood.com under the Get Inspired tab at the top of the homepage. Happy shopping! Best, Lana
Are there two different styles for ad4030sr front. I currently have 4 with straight pierce in front but some pics of the same model show a curved front.
Hi Dave, Thank you for your question! We have many different back and seat styles available in our Adirondack Chair product line. The Classic Adirondack Chair, SKU #AD4030 has a flat seat front, and a similar style, the Vineyard Curveback Adirondack chair, SKU #AD600 offers a waterfall seat front. Thanks, Lana
Which seat cushion fits the classic Adirondack chair?
Hi Michael, Great question! The cushion for the Classic Adirondack chair is SKU XPWS0008 and can be found under the Shop Accessories tab on the Classic Adirondack Chair product page. Happy shopping! Best, Lana
What is the measurement for the seat back from bottom to top? Also please confirm that the seat is 17" x 20'. I'm have Sunbrella cushions from previous chairs, and want to reuse them on whatever chairs I order. Thanks.
Hi Suzanne, Thank you for your inquiry. The chair back is 26.89" high and the seat dimensions are 20" W x 17" D. Thanks, Lana
What is your return policy?
Hi Margaret, Thank you for your inquiry! POLYWOOD has a 30-Day No-Hassle Return Policy. We'll send you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and arrange a return with our carrier at your convenience. The carrier will come to your location with the shipping label(s). We request that all returned products be in original packaging and resellable condition upon return. If you no longer have the original packaging, please contact us for assistance. What do you recommend to place on the chair leg bottom to prevent the chair from sliding
Hi Mark, Thank you for reaching out. Great question! If you are looking for protection underneath the furniture, we recommend furniture sliders or furniture foot pads to protect the bottom of the chairs. POLYWOOD furniture is very durable but dragging the chairs on overtime could potentially scuff them. I hope this information was helpful. Thank you, Michelle
Hello. Since you're using plastic, dose it prone to static electricity? Does your chairs get hotter than wooden chairs in the sun?
Hi Sagi, Thank you for your questions! We don't often hear about static electricity regarding our furniture, but when it does occur our recommended solution would be to rinse your chairs and then wipe them down or let them air dry. This will add moisture and in turn, reduce or eliminate static. Our furniture will get warm in direct sunlight, especially the darker colors. We recommend testing out the surface of your outdoor with the back of your hand before sitting on it when it's in direct sunlight. Thanks, Lana
I have seen reviews of various HDPE adirondack chairs attracting squirrels that chew on the material. Do you have any history of complaints like this for your products? Thanks.
Hello Brett, Animal damage to furniture is circumstantial and depends on the environment, climate, and location of the items. While some areas may experience issues with squirrels, other areas may not face the same challenges. When it comes to deterring squirrels, we usually recommend natural repellents such as peppermint oil or cayenne pepper. Applying these near or on the furniture can sometimes help keep squirrels away by their scent. To further assist you, I've included a link to a post on the POLYWOOD Blog below. It provides valuable insights on how to effectively deter squirrels. How to Get Rid of Squirrels in 10 Different Ways Please let us know if you have any further questions. Mindy

Hi Allison, Thank you for your interest in our Classic Adirondack Chair. This chair is not available in Lemon at this time. Thank you, Michelle
Are the classic adirondak chairs stackable?
Hello Coleen, Great question! I'm afraid not, We do not have any Adirondack chairs that are stackable. Thanks, Mindy
Is the Long Beach Adirondack chair at Costco the same as the Classic Adirondack? I purchased some from Costco in 2021 and now I want to buy more that match.
Hello Jane, The best way to see if something matches, is to reach out to customer service with the serial number, from the small white bar code sticker on the underside of the chair. That way, the exact model and color can be confirmed. Looking at the POLYWOOD Long Beach Adirondack from Costco, I can see a few small differences, like the brace at the front and the actual size. That particular chair is not available to purchase directly, as it is an exclusive with Costco and can only be purchased there. Thanks, Mindy
where is it MADE?
Hi Joe, That is an excellent question! We are proud to say we are made in the USA! Our production facilities are located in Indiana and North Carolina. https://www.polywood.com/get-inspired/genuine-stories/polywood.html Thanks for asking, Michelle
I ordered one of these chairs & really enjoy it. Unfortunately a slat in the seat broke. The part is labeled H. I wondered if I can order just this part to repair the chair.
Hi Arlinda, Thank you for reaching out! Although I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your POLYWOOD chair, I am sorry to hear that a slat on the seat has broken. Please reach out to our Customer Service Team at (855)-935-5550 or you can email us at hello@polywood.com and we'll be more than happy to assist you with this. Thank you, Michelle
I was told we could get samples of colors and finishes. We ordered thru Wayfair 4 chairs in mahogany and we didn't like how they looked and whey have issued a return. Can you send samples of the gray and coffee? What chairs are available in coffee. We ordered, and liked the Vineyard Curved back.
Hi Elliot, Thank you for reaching out with your question! We do have samples available for purchase here on our website at: https://www.polywood.com/styles/samples.html. We also have various chairs available in the color Vintage Coffee. You can view some available options here at: https://www.polywood.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=vintage%20chair#/filter:polywood_frame_color:Vintage$2520Coffee. The Vineyard Curveback Adirondack Chair is indeed available in the color Vintage Coffee. I have provided a link down below for it: https://www.polywood.com/vineyard-curveback-adirondack-chair-ad600v.html. I hope this information was helpful. Thank you, Michelle
How would you describe the seat back? Is it relaxed like star gazing or sit upright?
Hello Meghan, When I think of upright, I think of a flat and straight back. This is not straight, but is relaxed and tilted back. You could certainly use it for stargazing. ![](https://polywoodinc.zendesk.com/attachments/token/CpvRYw2DJEua9ig9agmeq17cc/?name=image.png) Thanks, Mindy
Is the seat on this chair the “classic ” seat?
Hi Cindy, Our Classic Adirondack Chair (AD4030) has a seat height of 13.5", a seat depth of 17", and a seat width of 20". The chair features a contoured seat for added comfort. Thanks for asking, Brooke
Are ALL Polywood adirondack chairs made from plastic that was diverted from landfill? Or are some of the plastic resins made from first-use plastics?
Hi Kim, POLYWOOD lumber is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), UV-inhibited pigments, and selected additives. Our recycled content contains both post-consumer and post-industrial materials. Percentages vary depending on the availability of post-consumer & post-industrial materials, and the specific lumber color. Thanks for asking, Brooke
