We bought 4 of these

"We bought 4 of these chairs to go with the 36” diameter Polywood round table. They are very attractive, were easy to assemble and fit perfectly on our smallish deck. I had some cushions that fit the seats perfectly and they are very comfortable to sit on. We have bought other Polywood furniture in the past and have been very happy with the quality and durability. We expect this set to last for many years to come. Easy to clean too!"

Lisa P. (5/5)

Difficult Assembly

"Not easy for seniors citizens to assemble. Only 4 bolts per chair sounds easy. Not your ordinary bolts for sure. Second chair holes didn’t line up. We can only assemble 2 chairs per day-ugh!! Then onto the table🤞🏼. Haven’t completely unpacked so hopefully no scratches or defects ahead."

Mitzi H. (3/5)

Too small

"The chair is too small. Looks good on line but the seat is not deep enough and too narrow! Disappointing!"

David B. (2/5)

Q&A

Does the black Polywood furniture get hot in direct sunlight?
Hello Lee, Thank you for your question! We've designed POLYWOOD furniture to remain outdoors in all climates, but on hot days in direct sunlight, darker lumber colors readily absorb heat. If you live in an arid or frequently sunny region, you can take steps to keep your furniture cool and comfortable on hot days: - Use cushions or umbrellas to shade your furniture and minimize heat buildup. - Use protective furniture covers to shield your furniture from overheating when not in use. For covers, we recommend thecoverstore.com. I hope this information helps! Best, Emma
we would like to buy the Lakeside 9-Piece Farmhouse Dining Set with Trestle Legs, but with all 8 chairs with arm chairs.
Hello Doug, I apologize, our sets cannot be changed or modified. You can still order what you want, you just have to do so individually. Thanks for asking, Mindy
The Lakeside arm rest is only about 7" above the seat. When using the recommended Polywood cushion, the gap is less than 5". At that distance, I cannot comfortably rest my arms on the arm rests. Do your other chairs have similar measurements? I'm not sure if I can tolerate this.
Hi Tom, Our dining arm chairs are designed to slide under our dining tables and dining chair arm heights and our dining arm chairs will be 25"H or less. Thanks for asking! Lana
Which size cushion fits on the lakeside dining arm chair ?
Hi Nic, Thank you for your question! The cushion that fits this chair is SKU# XPWS0183 and can be found under the Shop Accessories tab on the Lakeside Dining Arm Chair product page. Happy shopping! Thanks, Lana
Can I return chairs from a 5 piece set with chairs with arms? Seems i made a mistake on my order.
Hi Charlie, Great question! If you've received your order within the last 30 days you may take advantage of our 30-Day No-Hassle return policy to ship back the chairs from the set for credit. Simply visit our Help Center to start your return. Thanks! Lana
How wide is the armrest? Could you put a glass/drink on it? Thanks!
Hi M.C., Thank you for your inquiry! The arm width of the Lakeside Dining Chair with Arms is 2.8". It's not quite wide enough to confidently set a delicious glass of iced tea on. Thanks! Lana
Hi will the Lakeside chairs work well with 38x72 Parsons table or do you reccommend another style?
Hello Sally, That is a great question! Yes, any of our dining tables will work with any of our dining chairs. They are all designed and built to work well together, you just have to decide on the sytle you would like. Not only would these work, but I believe they would look lovely together. Thanks, Mindy
Do the vintage colors have more of a wood-grain look or are they smooth like the classic colors?
Hi Tammy, Thank you for your question! Yes, the Vintage finishes do have more of a wood grain appearance. Our Vintage Finish evokes the richness and character of matte-painted wood but doesn’t require refinishing after exposure to the elements. Thanks, Lana
Weight limit for chairs
Hi Suz, Great question! All POLYWOOD furniture is tested using ATSM standards. The Lakeside Dining Arm Chair has been tested to hold up to 350 pounds. Thanks for asking, Michelle
The Lakeside armchair is presenting a problem in putting the arms on the chair. The screw-threaded dowels will not screw in, they are too tight to screw in using fingers! Do I have to drill the holes a little bigger, or do you have a suggestion on how to screw in the dowel without damaging the screw threads?
Hi Richard, Thank you for reaching out with your question! We are so sorry to hear of the issues you faced with assembling your furniture. The dowel does not need to be hand-tightened, only started enough that it will hold itself in the material. As you rotate the arm onto the side, it will thread itself into the material on both ends, stopping in the middle due to the collar that is in the center of the dowel. If you need further assistance, please contact our Customer Service Team at (855)-935-5550 and we'll be more than happy to answer any additional questions you may have. Thank you, Michelle
Is the hardware stainless steel?
Hi Kim, Great question! For optimal performance and longevity, we use high-performance marine-grade quality stainless steel hardware for the assembly and construction of all POLYWOOD furniture. Thanks for asking, Michelle
What is the height of the chair back ( seat to top of chair) ?
Hello Alysson, Thank you for reaching out to POLYWOOD about our Lakeside Dining Arm chair. The chair back height from the seat to the top of the chair back is about 17.19". Thanks -Jason
are chairs stackable?
Hello Bob, I apologize, we do not currently have any dining chairs that are stackable. Thanks for asking, Mindy
Will it hold a 500 pound person
Hello Barbara, All of our products are put through standard ASTM testing. These chairs are tested to hold up to 400 pounds. Thanks, Mindy
What is the weight limit for these chairs? I have some friends who are fairly large, around 300+...thanks.
Hello Mark, Thank you for reaching out to us and for your interest in our Lakeside Dining Arm Chair. All of our products are put through standard ASTM testing. These chairs are tested to hold up to 400 pounds and have been seen to hold more. Thanks -Jason
What size screws are used to hold the legs to the underside of the Lakeside dining chair? One of the six delivered to me is missing two of the screws - the chair is unsafe to sit on right now (I already sent a note to customer service earlier tonight - don't expect a reply for a few more days)
Hello Johnathan, Thank you for reaching out to POLYWOOD. I do see our customer service team has responded to your email request. I hope we were able to resolve this in a quick and prompt manner. Thanks -Jason
What dimension cushion goes with this chair?
Hi Sara, The Standard Seat Cushion - 17"D x 18.5"W x 2.5"H pairs perfectly with this chair. You can view this cushion on our website at: https://www.polywood.com/standard-seat-cushion-xpws0183.html. To find the "Perfect pairings" to an item on our website you can scroll down on the product until you get to the "Shop Perfect Pairing" section and click on the drop down arrow. I hope this helps! Thank you, Michelle
What is the weight limit for this chair?
Hello SM, Thank you for reaching out. Our dining chairs are put through standard ASTM testing and can hold up to 400 pounds and have been seen to hold more. Thanks -Jason
If I want them just an inch lower, can I chop off an inch on each leg?
Hello Frillie, We would strongly advise against cutting down the chairs as they have not been tested that way and we can not guarantee how structurally sound the chairs would be after modification. Also doing so would void your 20 year warranty. Thank you for reaching out, Heather
Do any of your dining chairs swivel?
Hi Judy, Thanks for asking. We do have swivel style Adirondack dining chairs, but no swivel style traditional dining chairs. I have included a link to all the swivel chairs that we have, in case you are interested in the Adirondack style. https://www.polywood.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=swivel%20dining#/filter:furniture_type:Dining$2520Chairs Happy shopping!
