I have the modern folding Adirondack chairs. I can’t find the weight bearing capacity of it though and I will have someone soon who probably weighs 300 to 350 I’m guessing. Will the chair I have be OK to use?

Do the black chairs get hot in the sun?

Hey Ashley, Thank you for reaching out. With POLYWOOD furniture it is built to withstand all sorts of climates, but our dark lumber colors are known to retain more heat when in direct sunlight. Is the only difference between the folding chair and the non-folding chair is that one folds and one does not? Or are there additional differences?

The Modern Folding Adirondack Chair (SKU MNA110) has a slightly contoured backrest (it's slightly curved from shoulder to shoulder) whereas the Modern Adirondack Chair (SKU AD420) has a flat backrest. Another difference is the front of the chair (the area behind your knees); the folding chair has a flat front while the non-folding chair has a slightly rounded front. Is the black color a solid dark black or is it slightly mottled?

Do the colors fade over time if left in full sun?

Hi POLYWOOD lumber is made with UV-stabilizers to minimize fading; however, upon exposure to the sun, all colors will fade to some degree. When you take out the pin to fold them - do you insert the pin back in once folded - or do I have to worry about where to put the pin when they are stored/folded?
