Beautifuly crafted

"I had to add another corner to my sectional. Love this Deep Seating Patio Set!"

Xavier G. (5/5)

Defective, poorly made, almost impossible to assemble.

"Very poor quality control. Furniture is difficult to assemble due to poor manufacturing tolerances, edges are scalloped on some of the pieces, corner cushion was manufactured with the zipper on the top surface. Screws are not long enough in some places and strip out. Furniture was sloppy stacked on a shipping pallet. You will need to reinforce joints on your own with stainless steel construction screws. I am a skilled woodworker and have built all sorts of furniture… I was barely able to assemble these pieces."

Never again

"Although this review is about my recent experience with the 6-piece EDGE modular deep-seating set that I recently received from Polywood, it is an overall review of my experience, having been a repeat customer. My EDGE set arrived later than expected (which I know was just a window), and once all boxes were unpacked and I began to try to put it together, I noticed that the holes drilled into the top of the back rest were too large for the screws on each of the three corner seating pieces. Additionally, there was no notch in the seat on any of these pieces on which the back piece could rest on the seat; it would seemingly just be supported by the screw. I reached out to Polywood right away and opened a video call with Mindy who saw exactly what was wrong and immediately offered to replace the pieces – the three corner pieces. I explained to her that I didn’t need the pieces. I just needed larger screws. “Nope, we don’t know the size of the hole; we will send three new corner pieces. And for your trouble, we will give you a bit of a credit back. ” Which was a very nice gesture. All great, but with company coming from overseas, I kind of need this asap. Mindy told me that she was going to try to get it shipped quickly and she would make absolutely sure that the pieces got inspected thoroughly before they went out the door and was very apologetic. It's then that I tell her about 2021 when I ordered the Lakeside 9-piece bar table and chairs – another pricey item that arrived with half of the chairs missing holes and pieces put together upside-down. Back then they also sent me new chairs when they also could have just sent me new screws (or I could have gotten my own screws quite frankly) but for that price, it should be done right. But, I digress. The point is, this is not the first time that I’ve had a production issue. It was my mistake to trust them a second time. Fast-forward 10 days to get my replacement order of three corner deep-seating sofa pieces (when I could have just gotten screws) to take off work again to wait for FedEx Freight since I have to sign for this delivery. I open the boxes … all excited. I carry them to the deck and start to put them together … the edges of the plastic are all jagged. Like they were ripped off the assembly line. Being the optimist that I am, I think, “not a problem, I can just sand that down. ” Fine. I take the backrest pieces out. Hmm. I wonder why these holes aren’t lining up. I’m using the right pieces … check the instructions again. Yup, it’s the right piece. Wait a minute. THE BACK OF THE SOFA IS UPSIDE DOWN. It’s supposed to be slanted to accept the back rest you’re attaching. Well, it’s slanted alright. THE WRONG DIRECTION. The piece is attached UPSIDE DOWN. This has to be a joke. I look … two out of three of the pieces are constructed this way. But not only that, on ONE SIDE OF THE SOFA CORNER. So, if one is inspecting it (and I’m not a quality-control inspector and I noticed it), one would say, “Hmm, why is THAT side angled backward and THIS side angled forward … that doesn’t seem right!” BETTER YET, THE HOLES ARE STILL WRONG. On one piece, a screw is sticking out of the side of the sofa. And on two of the three pieces, the seat bottom is attached BACKWARD so there’s no way to attach the base of the backrest to the seat bottom. These three are even more unusable than the first order I received. I call Polywood. Wait to speak to someone for 26 minutes. Finally Deanna was lucky enough to get me on the phone. By then, I was able to calm myself down, because I was honestly fuming. “Don’t send me anymore pieces. I do not want three more pieces. I am going to do what I should have done before and just gone to my local hardware store [mind you which is 30 minutes away] and get larger screws and be done with this. ” She offers again to ship new items. I absolutely do not want new items because NOW, I have to disassemble these in order to recycyle them. Which is now a weekend project that I frankly do not have time for. These are 100% unusable. I told Deanna that the company needed to make me whole for every amount of trouble that I have been through with this nonsense. Another little credit, but in no way whole. I should at least been given credit back for three broken corner pieces. The lack of quality control in production is appalling. Products going out the door that cannot be put together is unacceptable. Mindy did reach out to see how the replacement furniture was and I told her what a mess it was. She apologized again and told me someone senior was looking into it. And that’s great. I feel bad for the customer service agents who have to deal with issues like this because it’s not their fault. So I do try to be as calm and as polite as I can. And I feel the best way for people to show dissatisfaction is to not patronize a business that does not perform up to your standards. So, after spending over $6500 at Polywood over the past three years, there is absolutely no way that I would recommend these products to anyone unless their quality control undergoes some major change. The reason I repurchased from them was because the dining set withstood two harsh winters in a northern US climate."

Excited for our New Backyard Furniture

"We bought other furniture but in the AZ heat it was ruined after a year so we decided to spend the extra money and invest in Polywood. The furniture is well built and the cushion material and density of the cushions is great. We'll see if it lasts in AZ, but with a 20-year warranty I'm hoping we should be set for many years. The delivery was also very quick."

Q&A

Will two Edge modular corner chairs lock together to make a love seat?
Hi Ben, Great question! Yes, you can secure two Corner Modular Chairs together to create a loveseat. Thanks for asking! Lana
Can you put two edge seats together to make a loveseat and then get ottoman for a chaise? I have a small space I need it for
Hello Katie, All modular chairs will include a bracket for attachment, allowing you to create any configuration you desire, including connecting two corner chairs. However, the ottomans will not come with a bracket, so while you can use them, they won't be attachable to the other pieces. Thanks, Mindy
Does the corner piece include the three cushions? Seat and two backs.
Hi Paul, Great question! Yes, the Modular Corner chair comes standard with all three cushions. Thanks for asking! Lana
Can the Modular corner chair be used as ends for a sofa or does it need to be a corner in a sectional?
Hi Mark, Thank you for reaching out with your question! Yes, you can use corner chairs instead of the modular right and left arm chairs if you wish. Just keep in mind that the arms on those chairs help to keep the cushions from moving out of place. Thanks for asking, Michelle
Can you get swatches of the fabric? Are there several different types- am assuming the burlap is different than the linen, but are there other types as well?
Hi Laura, Great question! We have various fabric colors available. You can view the fabric samples we have available for purchase here on our website at: https://www.polywood.com/performance-fabric-sample-mkms018.html. I hope this helps with your purchasing options. Best wishes, Michelle
With the corner chair, can you have a right and left corner chair to make a love seat?
Hello Susan, Thank you for reaching out to us and for your interest in our Modular Deep Seating chairs. With this collection we do offer a left and right Modular arm chair that you can order and clip together to make into a Loveseat. https://www.polywood.com/edge-modular-left-arm-chair-4601laf.html https://www.polywood.com/edge-modular-right-arm-chair-4601raf.html Thanks -Jason
Are the modular corner chair cushions available in the white “natural linen” color? I already have a three piece sectional in this color and wanted to add in to it but I don’t see the cushion option available. Thanks!
Hi Brittany! Great question! At this very moment the Modular Corner Chair in unavailable. However, the Natural Linen is generally a fabric option for the Modular collection. Please check back for availability! Have a great day! Sharon
Could this be used on it's own? Or does it need to be paired with an arm chair? Thinking about purchasing this with an ottoman for a small lounge space.
Hello Sarah, Great question! yes all of our module pieces can be used independently. Put it together with an ottoman to make a little deep seating chaise is an awesome idea for a small lounge space. Thanks For reaching out, Heather
I'm about to buy the "Westport 7-Piece Modular Deep Seating Fire Chat Set" from Costco. Will I be able to incorporate this corner chair into that set from Costco?
Hello Matt, Thanks for reaching out! Yes, this EDGE Modular Corner Chair will pair with Costco's Westport Modular Set. However, the fabrics that we can offer directly through polywood.com will be different to Costco. Costco are offered exclusive fabric colours for the Westport Collection. I hope this information is helpful. Thank you, Oli
Does the vintage finish edge come in a six piece sectional or do you have to by the pieces separately? If I have to buy them separately, will they be able to be joined together.
Hello and thank you for your interest in the Edge 6-piece sectional in Vintage finish. Yes, there is a set part number so I've added the link for you. Even if you choose to order each piece ala carte, they will still fit together with clamps that fasten underneath each piece. Thanks so much for taking the time to ask! Karen
I have ordered three pieces of the modular furniture. Is there anyway to attach them so they do not separate or slide apart when in use?
Hello Elizabeth, that is a great question. The pieces of Modular deep seating should have come with brackets that connect the sections together. If you did not receive these brackets with your furniture you can reach out to our team at hello@polywood.com and we can help you get the process started to get these brackets sent out to you. Thank you very much for reaching out with your question, and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns. Best wishes, Collin.
Are the cushion covers removable on the polywood edge sectionals?
Hi there! Our cushions do not have zippers available to remove the fabric for cleaning. We do have cleaning instructions available on our website under "Care & Maintenance" for the cushions. Here is a link to this section: https://www.polywood.com/care-maintenance/. Thanks and have a great day! Cait
Will the Edge dining table be offered in a 59” square option?
