Reviews

Has not been delivered.

"Ordered it 7 weeks ago; it still hasn’t been delivered. Why would you send me a request for a review for a product I don’t even have, yet?"

Amy L. (1/5)

So far so good.

"Only had 2 weeks but happy so far. Will see how they hold up over time."

Dean W. (5/5)

"This swing is gorgeous and completes my porch, customer service was very responsive and excellent, thank you Polywood!"

Kelly J. (5/5)

Great look and swing

"Had to have contractor install and find additional parts since some were missing on chain. Would not have been able to instal on our own."

L M. (4/5)

Porch Poly Swing

"Instructions were clear. No problem with assembly. I adjusted the linkage for a slight tilt to the back. Everyone is happy and very pleased and expect it to serve us well."

Walter R. (5/5)

Very well built.

"Very well built."

I am still waiting for

"I am still waiting for customer service to respond. At this point I would not purchase this product again. When we tried to assemble the swing, parts were missing. I called customer service and they asked for a serial number. There is none on my product. They did send the missing parts. Now that the swing is assembled I noticed the slats that you sit on are warped. I filled out an online request for customer service and I have yet to hear from them. I included pictures for them. Still waiting…."

Veronica S. (2/5)

Great swing!

"Love the color and length of chain!"

Sharon V. (5/5)

The swing itself is made

"The swing itself is made to last, good quality. The assembly process was a bit of a task for one person, it’s heavy. The instructions were fine, but I still made errors in putting the correct screws in place."

Scott P. (5/5)

well built, good value

"The assembly was not difficult but was easier with two people. The precision tolerances achieved are "craftsmanship" quality even if performed with space age technology. I have other Pollywood products and am pleased with their low maintenance, long-term durability."

Q&A

Does the back of the swing have visible screws?
Hello Cathy, Great question! Yes, the Nautical 48" Swing does have visible screws in the back. I hope this helps. Best, -Zach
Where can I get the stand as well to go with the bench?
Hi Jacquie, Thank you for reaching out with your inquiry about the swing frame in the photo. We do not offer any frames at this time. I'm sure a quick internet search will lead you to many companies that do offer swing frames though. Thanks again for asking! Lana
Could this swing be hung from a sturdy tree branch, affixing the chains to hardware on straps?
Hi Jennifer, great question! We recommend following the guidelines below to ensure a safe and easy swing set up: - POLYWOOD porch swings can be attached to ceilings or structures up to nine feet tall. POLYWOOD provides the chain and quick links for the swing installation, but does not provide the hanging points. Your swing should be affixed to a load-bearing beam or ceiling joist that’s sturdy enough to hold the swing’s weight and anyone who uses it. - Joists need adequate support on both ends and should be on the thicker side—a 2’ x 6’ or 2’ x 8’. - Porch swings should hang about 17–19 inches above the floor. - The distance between mounting hardware should measure 4–6 inches wider than the swing length—from armrest to armrest. - Your swing needs 3–4 feet of distance to both the front and back and 12–14 inches of clearance on either side. Thank you, Lana
I understand the 48 " Nautical is rated for 400 pounds per seat. Does that mean the total weight limit for the swing is 800 pounds?
Hello Karen, Thank you for reaching out. The total weight would be 800 pounds, but only if it is evenly dispersed between the 2 seat sections. Thanks -Jason
Is it possible to get the swings with rope instead of chain for hanging.
Hello John, I apologize. These swings were designed and made to be used with the chains we provide. Thanks, Mindy
Is this swing available with rope instead of chains? If not, could that be something I swap out after purchase?
Hello Kristen, Thank you for reaching out. With our swings we only offer them with chains. You can swap out for rope but if anything were to happen it would not be covered under warranty as we only advise to use the swing with the chain provided. Thanks -Jason
What is the weight capacity for this swing?
Hello Michael, Thank you for reaching out. With our products they are all tested with ASTM standards. Each seat section on the swing has been tested to hold up to 400 pounds. I hope this information helps. Thanks -Jason
What is the weight limit for the 48" nautical swing
Hello Randy, Thank you for taking the time to reach out. With our products we have all them all go through standard ASTM testing and each seat of the swing can hold up to 400 pounds. I hope this information helps. Thanks -Jason
If purchased from a different source, is there any problem with hanging this with rope instead of chain?
Hello Tricia, I apologize, we cannot recommend hanging this swing with anything except the chains provided, as it was designed, built & tested with chains. It would also void your warranty if you used ropes. Thank you for asking, Mindy
We have a 48" cypress swing hanging from a very stout cypress frame. We want to replace the swing with this one. On our current swing the holes through which the chains pass are 50" apart. How many inches from 'chain hole to chain hole' on the Nautical 48" Swing (NS48.) We don't want to change the point where the chains hook to the frame. Will this swing work with our present frame?
Hello David, Thank you for reaching out with these great questions! On the Nautical 48" Swing, we do recommend that the hanging mounts be about 55" apart to accommodate for the holes which the chain pass through. I do not believe that this swing will work with your current frame. The chains would be too close together and would rub on the furniture. I did look through all of our swings, and 55" inches is the closest we would recommend for any of the hanging mounts. I understand it would mean changing your current frame, but please know that POLYWOOD is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), which, by nature, is an extremely durable plastic that is weather-resistant and easy to clean — perfect for outdoor furniture. In addition to HDPE, POLYWOOD lumber includes UV-inhibited pigment systems to help maintain our lumber colors throughout the material, not just on the surface. We currently recycle millions of landfill-bound and ocean-bound plastic containers every year and transform them into genuine POLYWOOD lumber, which comes with a 20 year residential warranty. Changing your frame now, and purchasing POLYWOOD, would mean 20+ years of not having to make changes again. Thanks, Mindy
Regarding the NS 48, what is the max ceiling height which the supplied chain set will support?
Hello Eddie, Thanks for asking. The chain kit that comes with our Nautical 48" Swing is meant for a 9 foot max porch height. If you have a porch that is higher, you can call Customer Service at 855-935-5550 and purchase extra lengths of chain. ![](https://polywoodinc.zendesk.com/attachments/token/CWwYCYnejNATa0GCskHD1lV6g/?name=image.png) I hope this helps, Mindy
Is this offered in a 60”?
Hi David, The Nautical swing only has the 48" option for a swing. We do have two 60" swing options. The Vineyard 60" Porch Swing, SKU: GNS60 and the new Country Living 60" Swing, SKU: CLGNS604. Either swing would look lovely on a porch. I hope this helps when adding to your POLYWOOD collection. Mindy
Can you tell me the dimensions of the hand hold or slot at the top of the swing top rail?
Hello Anonymous, The dimensions of the cut out in our Nautical 6.5"W X 1.5"H with routed edges. It is the same size for all of our Nautical collection. Thank you for reaching out, Heather
Will the nautical swing come in 60”(please)?
Hey Angela! Thank you so much for your inquiry. At this time, we do not have near future plans to create a 60" Nautical Swing. I will pass this along to Engineering so they are aware of the desire for this. Thanks again! Jillian
Why is this swing that is substantially smaller than the vineyard $210 higher than the vineyard?
Hi there, There are a variety of factors that come into play when pricing is being created. Two of those include the amount of material and how much time it will take a team to build the item. Even though the Vineyard 60" Porch Swing is larger, the Nautical 48" Swing takes a bit more material since its boards have a thicker lumber profile. There are added features of the Nautical also take longer to create; the curved headrest board with the cutout, the curved back slats, and the detailed armrests. Thanks for asking! Candace
Are replacement slats available?
Hello there, that is a great question. For this product the seat slats are able to be replaced individually, however, the slats on the back are not. If you need to replace a slat on the back you will need an entire new back. If you would like to make a warranty claim you can file one on our help center at https://help.polywood.com/hc/en-us under the warranty tab. I hope this response was helpful to your question. Best wishes, Collin
Is the hanging frame (pictured with 48" nautical swing) available to purchase? Our porch ceiling is not strong enough to support the swing, so we would be interested in purchasing the frame. Price/dimensions?
Hi Denise, Polywood only make the swing, not the stand. A quick google search should result in lots of options to purchase the stands. Thanks! Karen
Can i purchase the steel frame shown in the pciture as i cannot fit this between my deck supports?
Hi Michelle Thank you for reaching out with your inquiry about the swing frame in the photo. We do not offer any frames at this time. I'm sure a quick internet search will lead you to many companies who do offer swing frames though. Thanks again for asking! Karen
If mounting to the ceiling, how far away from the wall should the hooks be placed? And is there a maximum ceiling height that it can be mounted to?
Hi there! This is a great question. We recommend hanging the Nautical 48" Swing around 2.5-3 ft from a wall to provide you with sufficient swinging room. The swing comes with 4 chains measuring 5 ft each and is designed to measure about 18 inches from the floor. Should you need more chain, we suggest checking out a local hardware store for more chain or extension hardware. I hope this helps! Thanks for taking the time to reach out. Julia
I found what appears to be another version of the Polywood Nautical 48" swing (part # NS48). There are not holes in the arm rests. Thus the metal hooks stick out farther on the sides allowing the front chains to run up the outer side of the arms. It is listed to only have a weight capacity of 300lb. Are there more than one version of this swing? Can you confirm that version only has a capacity of 300 while this one (with chains that run through the arm rests) has a weight capacity of 800lb? I see on here that you test all Polywood products to hold 400lb per seat.
Hi, Nicole! Thank you for taking the time to submit a question! POLYWOOD has updated the design to the Nautical 48" Swing in recent years to include the holes in the arm rests for the chain to go through. This swing, like most POLYWOOD products, has been tested by ASTM standards to hold up to 400 lbs per seat. Great questions! Julia
