I live on an island and need to have the shipment delivered to the ferry boat company dock. How do I provide the special instructions needed on the order form.

Are the 60 and 72-inch benches really only guaranteed for 300 pounds? I could not sit next to my husband without being over the weight!

Can we cement this in to make it permanent? Are this brackets for attaching?

Hi Sharon, Thank you for your question! While we don't provide brackets for permanently attaching benches, we recommend using stainless steel L brackets and hardware like in the photo and drawing below. If the leg where the bracket is attached cracks, it would not be covered under our warranty, however if you use hardware that goes in no further than 3/4 of the way into the lumber, and leave 1/4" on all sides of the screw or bolt, it should not crack. Do wasps and or spiders build nests/webs on this material?

Can you guys do a memorial bench? I love your benches and the quality and durability of them. But I didn’t know if there was possible it was possible to put a plate on there with the memorial saying and name or if there were options that you guys had?

Hi Tiffany, Thanks for reaching out! Currently, POLYWOOD doesn't provide custom plaques or engraving services. The headrail of the Vineyard 60" bench is 3", so you'll want a plaque that's slightly smaller than that. *Attaching plaques to our furniture won't void the warranty for the entire item. However, the specific component the plaque is connected to will be exempt from the warranty due to using screws or adhesives to modify the part. What side table goes well with your 60” bench? I have the bench next to my front door.

Hello Cinda, Than is a great question! One of the great things about POLYWOOD furniture, is that all of our Collections are meant to work with each other. That means any of our side tables will look lovely next to your bench. Personally, I would pick the Round 18" Side Table for a nice classic look. The Square 18" Folding Side Table is nice if you'll need to put it away from time to time. We have two of your rocking chairs and love how great they look after 3 years of being outside. I thought this was a chair made of plastic. But reading the detail info. (Ie: Durable, all-weather lumber not prone to splinter, crack, chip, peel, or rot) sounds like a portion of the chair has a wood component. Am I reading this wrong?

Hi Richard, That is an excellent question! POLYWOOD is made from HDPE—short for “high-density polyethylene”—a durable plastic that's widely used to make milk jugs, laundry detergent containers, bottle caps, etc. Our furniture is made with recycled and reusable HDPE, including post-consumer and post-industrial materials. Can a plaque be mounted on Plywood benches? If so, do you have instructions regarding what kind of screws are best to use or what adhesive you would recommend? The bench will be outdoors year-round. I live in Portland, Oregon.

Hi Susan, Thank you for reaching out with your question! We recommend a 2 1/2" plaque for the space so there is 1/4" on either side. We also recommend predrilling the pilot hole for the plaque, as to not cause damage to the back and using stainless steel hardware. I hope this helped. Thank you, Michelle

Like others we wish to attach a dedication plate to the bench and understand the space available. Do you have recommendations for the best way to attach? One answer said to use stainless steel hardware, but can you provide more? what material ? brass? stainless steel? And wat is the best method? Is it to drill holes and screw it in? Is there a strong glue that would work better? too many questions, but please do your best and many thanks.

Hello Jack, We would recommend wood/deck screws that are stainless steel; chrome-coated would be the best option, if available. We would not recommend any sort of glue, as it will not adhere to the poly lumber that our furniture is made of. It is likely that 1/4" screws will be what is needed, however, we can certainly give a better recommendation based on what you are attaching and where. Hi Krystle, The Back Head Rail is 3". Plaques can be attached to benches without voiding warranty. The component with the plaque isn't covered by warranty, but the rest of the piece is.
