Anthony Carrino's Firehouse
History of Hook and Ladder No. 3
Built in 1896, this former firehouse features a mix of Beaux-Arts and Renaissance Revival architecture. This ornate brick beauty served Jersey City for over 100 years and earned a National Register of Historic Places designation in 2015.
About The Space
The roof deck contains a full outdoor kitchen and nooks for dining and lounging. The Carrinos can entertain and relax all year round in one do-it-all spot. Anthony selected pieces from our sleekest collections, opting for white lumber and cool grey cushions to balance the warm hues of the surrounding brick, decking, and privacy fences.
Why polywood?
FAMILY-FRIENDLY OUTDOOR FURNITURE
Living in an urban environment typically means limited square footage, both inside and out. Anthony’s space-saving solution was to use patio furniture that didn’t require off-season storage. After collaborating to outfit his mountainside vacation home in 2020, he enlisted our help for his newest project. Knowing our furniture thrives in any season or climate, Anthony was excited to get creative.
"I knew that POLYWOOD was the answer. It’s not going to fade over time, crack, or warp; it's built to stand up to the elements. And there’s a design aesthetic that fits about every style you could hope for. That’s the ultimate win-win."
