What Is POLYWOOD Made From?
Genuine POLYWOOD lumber is made from recycled and reusable high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic. HDPE is safe, durable, weather-resistant, and easy to clean—the perfect outdoor furniture material. Learn more about our recycling process.
The vibrant color you see on the lumber's surface is not a veneer—it runs all the way through the material. Before transforming HDPE into lumber, we blend UV inhibitors, pigments, and other protective compounds with the plastic. Not only does this fully saturate the lumber with rich hues, but it also ensures long-lasting color that stays bright and vibrant year after year.
Emulating the smooth texture and subtle sheen of satin-painted wood, our Classic Finish lumber couples this timeless look with the added benefits of easy cleaning and all-weather durability.
Our Vintage Finish lumber is available in a select number of furniture options and features a subtle, wire-brushed texture giving the appearance of rich, matte-painted wood. Just like our Classic Finish lumber, Vintage Finish is easy to clean and will endure anything nature throws its way.
Vintage Finish is available in three beautiful shades: Vintage White, Vintage Sahara, and Vintage Coffee.
