Hopefully nice if I ever get one that was assembled correct.

"These things are about $1000 each and are VERY heavy. HOWEVER, I am currently waiting (ordered March 30 - now May 21) to receive their THIRD attempt at delivering one actually made right. I sent the first two back because they has EXACTLY the same problem - the lid was not mounted correctly and would not fully close on one end and extended past the side on one end but not the other. Not freight damage - boxes received were completely undamaged and were opened by the delivery team (paid for white glove delivery to get the heavy box to my back patio). See photos."

It’s a nice bench in

"It’s a nice bench in theory. The lid is heavy (it’s long so makes sense) but it doesn’t slam shut. That’s good. However, the front facing piece has a quality defect. It bows out in the middle. So right in the middle where most would try to lift the lid, there’s no lip to get a finger hold. So we have to open it from one of the sides, and again, it’s heavy, so that’s annoying for such an expensive bench."

Does it lock? Can I add a lock?
Hi Mike, thank you for your question! The Nautical 72" Storage Bench does not come with a built-in locking mechanism. While it may be possible to add a lock, doing so would require modifying the POLYWOOD lumber, which is not recommended due to voiding the warranty. Hope this helps answer your question! Best, Miriam
