Are the legs and cross bars also made of polywood, or a different material?

Hi Marge, Great question! The entire table is made of HDPE (high-density polyethylene) plastic which allows it to be all weather and to withstand all four seasons as well as a range of climates such as hot sun, snowy winters, salt spray and high winds. Thanks for asking! Lana

If I order your furniture, do I have to assemble it myself? I’m not very skilled at carpentry.

Hi Marcia, Great question! Products that require assembly often take less than 30 minutes to complete. Some components come partially assembled, such as a fully built seat, backrest, or tabletop. You'll need to finish assembly by affixing the components together. For larger pieces, such as dining tables and sofas, we recommend asking a friend or family member for help. Basic tools, hardware, and simple assembly instructions are included in every furniture order. Some products may require additional tools that are not included—these will be listed in the assembly instructions. how much weight can this table take. We might want to sit on it?

Hello Elizabeth We do test our side tables to the same static, impact, and cycle testing as all of our other chairs which are weight tested up to 400 lbs. The side tables have no problem supporting the same amount of weight as a chair, but we do not recommend customers using them as seats since they are not designed to withstand sideways forces like when someone sits down on one or pushes themselves up since those forces are not perfectly straight up and down. This can greatly reduce the life of the table and cause the legs to fail over time. Thank you for the great question, Heather

Is it possible to put an umbrella hole in this table?

Hi Dee, Thanks so much for asking about this! We aren't able to customize the Round 18" Side Table to inlcude an umbrella hole. This table wouldn't be able to stabalize a standard umbrella due to its size and weight. We do offer a 36" Round Conversation Table that is able to support a standard umbrella though (SKU RCT236).
