A deep seat chair has a seat depth (measured from the front to the back) between 34 and 41 inches. This extra space allows you to sit with your thighs fully rested on the seat, especially if you’re taller than 6 feet.
What do you call a chair with an ottoman?
Ottomans are furniture pieces typically sold with a coordinating armchair or sofa, but they may also be sold as a standalone design. While there isn’t a catchall term for a chair with an ottoman, you may hear footrest, footstool, and pouf used interchangeably to describe the ottoman itself.
