We asked our followers to submit photos of their outdoor areas for a chance to win furniture and a custom design for their space. Our three finalists: Zoe, Judy, and Nancy, each had a custom mood board developed for their space, but to decide the final winner, we put it to a vote in the POLYWOOD community.
Browse the curated looks for all three spaces and see how we brought the winner’s mood board to life—it may even inspire a backyard makeover of your own.

Space #1: Zoe

Don’t let the rain fool you, this space had so much potential! Zoe’s mission was to create a cozy seating arrangement on her upper deck while enjoying a dining set on the lower. We couldn’t have agreed with this vision more. Here was our styling solution for Zoe.

Inspiration
We knew right away that a woodsy color scheme was the perfect fit for Zoe’s tree-shrouded home. We opted for mahogany-hued furniture and sand-shaded cushions to complement the dark decking, leafy green decor, and navy accents to bring a bit of drama to the aesthetic.

Space #2: Judy

Judy caught our attention with this spacious, wooden patio. She utilized her space to relax and visit with friends, so it’s understandable that she requested a comfortable seating arrangement. Here was our concept for Judy.

Inspiration
We wanted to highlight the warm brick siding of Judy’s home, so we selected dining and lounge furniture in complementing wood tones, along with creamy fabrics and tan decor. Flowers and tableware in a happy coral hue would brighten the space and enhance its visual appeal.

Space #3: Nancy

Nancy had been patiently waiting for spring when submitting her space for our contest, and we don’t blame her. This large outdoor space is the kind of blank canvas designers dream of. She was looking for a comfortable conversation set and an area to dine alfresco. What that in mind, this is how we envisioned Nancy’s yard.

Inspiration
We couldn’t resist suggesting a pop of color against this home’s facade. A bright white dining set could continue the grey and white monochromatic theme, while vibrant green lounge pieces would introduce contrast to the space, offsetting nicely against the cool greys of the exterior hardscapes, siding, and trim.

The WINNER: Zoe
Drumroll, please. Our community voted for this space’s makeover, which was completed just in time for Zoe to enjoy a barbecue with her family on Mother’s Day. What a perfect way to enjoy their new furniture together. Check out Zoe’s take on our design inspiration—she loves it, and so do we!
