Even after years of sun, rain, and use, genuine POLYWOOD lumber will look as good as new thanks to our Color-Stay Technology. Vivid pigments run continuously throughout the material while UV inhibitors and stabilizers keep the hues pristine without the need to sand, paint, or stain.

“The Adirondack chair is exactly what I needed for a certain spot on my shore home porch! It’s constructed well and, best of all, foldable! After sitting in the chair I ordered the ottoman too!”

Why are they called Adirondacks?

Thomas Lee created the first Adirondack in 1903 to accommodate guests (and the rugged terrain) at his summer home in the Adirondack Mountains. While it was originally named the Westport chair, the better-known Adirondack name caught on as it gained popularity with locals and visitors in upstate New York. Lee's design featured the same wide armrests, straight back, and sloped seat we still see today.
