Even after years of sun, rain, and use, our fade-resistant lumber will look as good as new. Vivid pigments run continuously throughout the high-quality material while UV inhibitors and stabilizers keep the hues pristine without the need to sand, paint, or stain.

Made in the Shade

Looking for a patio bistro set with an umbrella hole? You’re in luck. Most of our dining tables feature a 1.625" hole, which fits both our dining- or bar-height umbrellas. On cloudy days or during the off-season, simply remove your umbrella and pop the included hole plug back into place.

Bistro Set Reviews

“This is a great set. We bought two of them for our deck. They were so easy to put together, and they are very sturdy. We added the seat cushions for extra comfort as well. Highly recommend these chairs and tables.”

- James M.

“We love this set. We have it on our lanai, and it's great. The colors match my beachy Margaritaville decor. It's made very sturdy, easy to clean, and easy to put together, and we never have to worry about it fading!"

- Carrie L.

“This set is the perfect size for my townhome deck and looks great. I love that the black looks more dark charcoal in the sunlight. Entire process of ordering, delivery, and putting it together was very easy.”

- Anna H.

Measure Twice, Buy Once

Before you order a patio bistro set, make sure you have enough space to accommodate one. All you need is a pencil, some paper, measuring tape, and a little time.

First, make a rough sketch of your floor plan and note the measurements between things like exterior walls, existing furniture, potted plants, walkways, etc. After double-checking your dimensions, make a final sketch on graph paper and circle any usable space.

FAQs
What's the average height of a bistro table?
Standard bistro tables are usually 28 to 30 inches tall, while bar-height bistro tables typically measure between 40 and 42 inches tall.
What size umbrella do I need for a bistro table?
To provide ample shade throughout the day, outdoor umbrellas should extend at least two feet beyond your table on all sides. For example, your umbrella should be at least eight feet in diameter if you have a 48-inch round table.
What size tablecloth should I get for a bistro table?
To find the right size tablecloth, measure the length and width of your bistro table and add in two times the desired drop (how much fabric you want to hang over the edges). Casual looks usually have 6–8 inches of drop; more formal settings call for 15 inches or more of drop. Follow these equations based on table shape.

A Brief History of Bistro Furniture

Rising to popularity by way of Parisian cafés, bistro furniture styles can be traced to the 19th century. The “Simplex” chair was patented in 1889 by Edouard Leclerc, and this folding metal seat allowed café owners to serve more patrons outside without paying rent on additional fixed space. In 1894, furniture maker Michael Thonet created the iconic No. 14 chair, which quickly became known as the bistro chair.

Both designs combined comfort, utility, and style, which are still the defining characteristics of contemporary bistro furniture. Today’s styles are often rendered in foldable, stackable, or small-space-friendly silhouettes. From a quaint coffee shop to your own balcony or backyard, bistro furniture fits right in without requiring much room.
