POLYWOOD Community Q&A

You asked, and our community answered. See what real POLYWOOD customers have to say about our most common questions.

How long does POLYWOOD last?

"We bought chairs for our sun deck 10 years ago, and they’ve withstood the Texas summers and still look great. Since these have stood up so well, I ordered two rockers to replace old wooden ones on another porch ... I LOVE them!"

Lucina T.

"Twelve years ago, I bought four rocking chairs and two small tables. Twelve years later, they look as new as if I just bought them. The new chaise lounge is the same quality today as 12 years ago. My only wish is that I had purchased the chaise cushion with it … Thank you, POLYWOOD, for a great product."

Why is POLYWOOD so expensive?

"I wouldn’t call this the cheapest set, nor the lightest in weight. I would say that you do get what you pay for, and we have comfortable, sturdy, attractive furniture! We love it!"

R.Y.

"This fire pit is solidly built and looks nice. The burn mechanism is also constructed with high-quality materials. I think the price is fair for what you get, and I would highly recommend this purchase to anyone looking for a high-end fire pit. This is built to last and looks beautiful when the flame is lit."

How to prevent POLYWOOD from getting sunbleached?

"We continue to purchase more and more outdoor furniture from POLYWOOD. Durable, comfortable products that last in the Florida sun!"

Michele J.

"Absolutely the best chairs we own. We have three sets of these chairs and plan to buy more. The chairs' quality, durability, and reliability are second to none. They don’t fade or show any wear. Ours sit out in the full Arizona sun and look as good as the day we bought them. They are simple to put together and easy to clean."

Kimberly A.

"This little table is … well-made and well-designed, as is all the POLYWOOD furniture we have now purchased ... We bought our first chairs three years ago. They are lime green and sit outside year-round in the winter cold and summer heat. They are in intense, all-day summer and winter sun in Colorado. They have been hailed on too. They still look and feel like new. The year-round sun has not faded them. We now have six chairs, a bench, and two side tables. I recommend this company highly."

How well does POLYWOOD furniture hold up to snow and ice?

"I purchased several chairs and a round coffee table in 2022 for our cabin in Truckee ... All furniture is left outdoors on the back deck all the time. I just would like everyone to know that the last winter season in Truckee was “record” snow levels. Furniture was stored close to the house and covered. When I went up the mountain to do my normal spring cleaning and uncovered my brand-new POLYWOOD furniture, it was in PERFECT condition! This winter was the BEST test of all time. I have no regrets at all."

Deborah S.

"This is our second set of chairs, and we love them. They join our first two chairs that are a few years ol but look like new. That is after a hard winter, snow, rain; you name it."

Kathleen M.

"I live in Vermont, with cold winters and hot, humid summers, so I was skeptical that I could leave this outside all year. My first bench held up so well that I ordered another one. They are solid but easy to move around while mowing, snow plowing, etc. … I have always liked the look of cedar, but it is nowhere near as tough as the POLYWOOD, and I'm tired of having to move everything to the garage out of the snow. I'll definitely order more."

Is POLYWOOD good for patio furniture?

"I recently purchased several pieces from the Lakeside Collection. The people at POLYWOOD are excellent to deal with. The furniture is excellent quality, and each piece represents great value … It's great to buy quality American products from a company that understands service! Highly recommended."

John D.

"This furniture is just right for our extreme environment: heat, salt, and wind. It is elegantly understated quality furniture, and we love it … as will our children and grandchildren long after we are gone."

Susan K.

"We purchased one green Folding Adirondack Chair to see how we liked it.

  1. Beautiful color, perfect for an elegant look at the pool and fire pit.
  2. Heavy enough to stay put when we get high winds atop our peak yet light enough that I can move it around with ease. (I'm a 63-year-old woman who doesn't work out.)
  3. Excellent quality; I'm sure they'll last forever.
  4. Comfortable.

Easy to put together, and then just remove the pins to fold for storage. I will be buying many more."

Jayn

"Great side table! This table is well-made and strong. It shipped quickly and is a wonderful addition to our deck."

Is POLYWOOD furniture easy to assemble?

"Well-built quality furniture! The colors on the website are true to what was delivered. Easy to assemble as well. I’m trying to decide on the next pieces to buy!"

N.A.

"I’m very pleased with the POLYWOOD chairs! I had five to assemble by myself, and they were fairly easy to put together. Clear instructions were provided, and all parts were in each box … So I would recommend these chairs to friends and family."
